Assembly –

Opto-mechanical assemblies and systems are produced here

Alois Dethomas - Assembling of components optical system - air-survey camera Alois Dethomas and his staff are looking forward to your visit.
One of our prime disciplines is the professional assembly of optical components, mechanical parts and sub-modules. High performance optical systems are produced in this department. Convincing solutions can be achieved by the careful choice of adapted and tested components, an inventive genius, professional know-how and an outstanding infrastructure.
The Assembly Department – Ultra fine cleaning
Ultra fine cleaning opto-mechanical system Precision cleaning under dust-free flow-boxes is one of the prerequisites in opto-mechanical assembly. The advantages of our staff members in this department are their long years' skills and patience.
Even a very small dust particle in an optical system could result in big problems. Whole components, systems or even whole units have to be dismantled because of contaminated components. We prevent it.
The Assembly Department – Gluing and Adjusting
Gluing of optical and mechanical components Glued opto-mechanical system Special glues are used to avoid distortion of optical components in their mechanical housing.
The optical axis is aligned with respect to the mechanical axis by means of collimators and cameras.

This task requires very special skills and extraordinary fingertips.
The Assembly Department – Bull chuck centering
Mechanics centering High-precision opto-mechanical assemblies stand out due to their optical axis perfectly aligned to the mechanical axis.
In this case we do this alignment by the so-called ball-chuck centering procedure.
An opto-mechanical system can be aligned mechanically with respect to its optical axis, by collimator and camera control on a lathe: in this well-defined condition, the mechanical housing can be reworked. This procedure allows to achieve highest precision centering conditions of completely mounted assemblies.

This demanding job requires a well-based knowledge in mechanics and optics.
