Microstructures –

Finest precision by far

Microstructures: Georg Greitmann Dr. Georg Greitmann is looking forward to your visit.
The combination of our in-house capabilities in the field of optical manufacture, optical coatings and microstructures allow us to offer complete solutions. Included are services such as development, consultancy and a full measurement documentation. Photolithographical procedures enable us to produce any quantity whatever in identical quality and highest precision.
specified graduation
Microstructures – Everything starts with the master – finest perfection in the single detail
Microstructure on glass Masters are generated in cleanroom environment. As this process is vibration sensitive, this room has a vibration-isolated foundation to prevent it from any vibrations created by public traffic or seismological phenomena.
The specified graduation will be established by means of a CAD software. Such a master graduation can be copied either in a contact process or in a contactless projection process called PSR (process-step-repeat).
Microstructures – Applying photo-layers
Applying photo-layers Prototypes or small series are lacquered manually with an appropriate photosensitive resist in a cleanroom with yellow light. This operation, too, requires high precision and skilled employees.
UV-light is used for contact-copying from master reticules, encoded circles, graduated filters, etc. Once being processed, the general workmanship of the substrates is checked with a Leica M450 microscope.
Microstructures – Quality control – how details are assured in detail
Quality Control Microstructures Microstructures are tested with high-resolution Leica microscopes at 30-times magnification.
Imagine a hair – its thickness of 0.02mm is well visible, even without a microscope.
The line width of high-precision graduations is 0.001mm! Testing these graduations requires a high power of concentration and a lot of experience.
